2022-12-06 Kiwanis Khristmas Kraziness! Not only are we a serious group during the year when we're volunteering in the community or busy raising funds to support the children of Muskoka, but we also know how to have fun! A few photos of our group playing silly reindeer games. We're certainly a competitive group. Lots of laughter, lots of friendships, lots of food, and did we say... LOTS OF LAUGHTER?! A great group of people, with huge hearts, letting off some stress. Thank you to all for participating in all the silliness of the evening. If you are interested in joining our awesome group, to do some good in the Muskoka community, just drop us a line... |

2022-10-21 Ted Barris Lunch & LearnAnother successful event with Ted Barris! The session started with a lovely homemade luncheon by the Ladies Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion 232 - Huntsville. If anyone left hungry, it would have been their own fault. Post feast, Ted captivated the audience with a discussion on his new book Battle of the Atlantic: Gauntlet to Victory. Nothing less than engaging and passionate, Ted held the audience’s attention, while he took his listeners on a trip through Canada’s participation in the Battle of the Atlantic. Upon conclusion, Ted signed books for those that desired. An educated audience left wanting to hear more. If Kiwanis is able to recruit Ted for another session in the future, we will ensure everyone is aware.

2022-09-19 Golf Tournament Cancelled 😢Friends of Kiwanis; It is not the news we wanted to share but it is what we need to share, the 4th Annual Kiwanis Golf Tournament of September 19th at North Granite Ridge has been cancelled for this year. There are certainly disappointed people, however the economic climate made it challenging for us and out of respect for our regular sponsors and golfers we were sensitive to their issues with staffing and simply trying to stay afloat, even though some would have made the effort to help, the numbers were not going to make it a meaningful tournament for the course as well as our golfers. We'll be back next year and trust that the economic climate will be in a better place as well. As for this event, those who have actually made payments, your funds will be returned, with our thanks. Tentatively save the date of Monday, September 18, 2023 for the return of Kiwanis to beautiful North Granite Ridge G.C. |

2022 Kiwanis 'School Supply Drive' ProgramKiwanis 'School Supply Drive' program in concert with Staples is in full swing....here are our displays at the Staples Bracebridge and Staples Huntsville stores. We are trying to help students from JK to Grade 8 in over 20 schools and organizations, from Gravenhurst to Burks Falls ensure they have the tools they need to succeed....however we need YOUR HELP. We are about to start filling back packs this week, but we need to encourage folks to consider making a monetary donation at either Staples store from now until mid-September so we can continue to fill those back packs with the much needed school supplies.... Remember the funds raised here - stay here, for the students right here. |
