The Club presented a Volunteer Appreciation Scholarship to Gabrielle (Gabby) Pennacchioli. Gabrielle will be attending the University of Western Ontario, in the School of Health Studies, Faculty of Health Sciences. The scholarship is awarded annually to acknowledge the tangible impact our youth can have on our community by serving beyond themselves, providing ongoing and meaningful altruistic volunteerism.
The Club presented a Brenda Wainman Goulet Memorial Scholarship to Kennedy Watts. Kennedy will be attending Algonquin College (Ottawa) in the 3 year Animation program. The scholarship is awarded annually by the in memory of Brenda Wainman Goulet. Brenda was a graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design and over a career spanning 30 years was recognized as a celebrated sculptor of international acclaim, a founding member of the ‘Artists of the Limberlost’, member of Muskoka Autumn Studio Tour (MAST) as well as Huntsville Festival of the Arts. The recipient of this scholarship is a graduating student taking Visual Arts, who will continue in the arts at a post-secondary institution. The award recipient will be selected by the Visual Arts Department based on the student's body of work over their secondary school career, having been acknowledged as having a superior gift of expression and artistic flair.
